Clearwater Color Nursery is a family owned and operated wholesale plant nursery, established in 1987. We are located approximately 5 miles from the Pacific Ocean in the picturesque Los Osos Valley. We enjoy a temperate climate, combined with almost constant coastal breezes that create ideal growing conditions for our greenhouse and outdoor growing facility. At Clearwater Color Nursery we start with a carefully developed peat-lite soil mix that is created on site. This mix helps grow plants that are healthy and strong. With the combination of our mild climate and specialty soil mix, our plants are able to adapt to and thrive in the new environment they will eventually be planted in. We maintain an inventory of over 500 plant varieties that vary by season, which we are proud to offer throughout all four seasons. 

 

We love being part of our Central Coast community. Over the years we have developed long-term, trusting business relationships and friendships with our customers. We sell to many independent retail nurseries in San Luis Obispo County, Santa Barbara County, Ventura County and many cities throughout California's Central Valley. We also provide landscape plants to many landscape professionals in our community.
 

As our name implies, we are true "color" growers, with a plethora of both new varieties and the tried and true annual favorites that are beloved by so many. Whether they are mass planted in a bed or border, clustered together in container gardens, or billowing over the sides of window boxes or hanging baskets, our annual flowers are sure to bring a smile to your face. In the spring and fall its Veggie time at Clearwater Color Nursery. Our vegetable and herbs are "No Spray", keeping them pesticide free. Our 6 pack, 4 pack, 4", 4.5" and 1 gallon vegetable and herb starts are the beginning of many happy hours in our customer's home vegetable gardens. There is something really special about growing your own delicious and nutritious food to be shared with family and friends. 

 

We have always strived to enrich people's lives by growing beautiful, healthy plants that will thrive in their landscape and gardens. We are intentional about seeking out new and interesting varieties of perennial plants that will grow in our Mediterranean climate. Our selection of drought tolerant plants continues to grow with many new California Native plants being offered and an ever expanding variety of Sedum and Succulents to choose from.

Here at Clearwater Color Nursery we are very conscious of our impact on the environment. The majority of our plastic pots used on site are made up of 100% recycled water bottles. We have been recognized with the "rEarth Million Bottle Award" from our plastic distributor.
